More Information

A pop-rock band with international sounds, the lyrics of which can be connected with the tradition of singer-song writers, although interpreted in a new and original way; a direct approach which aims to grasp the souls of those who’re listening.
The band “La Fame di Camilla” originates in Bari in 2007 and it reflects the eclectic tastes of its members which span from singer-song writer pop to Alternative music, from Psychedelia to pop-rock, from Radiohead to Coldplay; the pop-rock tendency of the Band emerges strongly since from the very beginning and represents its driving theme which is going to mark the future artistic path of the band. The first songs make their appearance very soon, both in Italian and Albanian, mother language of the band leader Ermal, arousing enthusiasm among the audience and the critics as well.
The first single of the band was "Storia di una Favola", which anticipated the release of the album “La Fame di Camilla”, a personal creation of the band.
This first work is definitely to mature for being just a débute. You can see how refined songs and inspired arrangements stand out as to prove once more the rise through the ranks which brought the band to the debut album backed by an important record company such as Universal.
“Storia di una Favola” was certainly a great hit and made the band winning the prize for the videoclip Best Subject in addition to the prize for Best Indie-pop revelation of the year by the MEI (Meeting of independent music labels). In Dicember the band also was awarded with the prize for Best Italian Videoclip (PVI) of 2009 in the Best New Artist category.
The debuting song of “La Fame di Camilla” at the Sanremo Festival was "Buio e Luce", another stunning example of international sounds and peculiar music trends, where Italian traditional melodies are cleverly interwoven with the deeply-emotional and “animist” arrangements typical of the British greatest pop-rock bands.
On the 19 February 2009 by Universal Music released the 2nd album by the band “Buio e Luce”: the cd contains both songs from the band’s debut album and brand new songs such as the Sanremo’s Festival hit. These new pieces has been revised by Fabrizio Barbacci (Negrita, Ligabue, Gianna Nannini, Roy Paci & Aretuska etc.) whose precious cooperation is a farther guarantee of the high quality of this young band’s new project.
Between 2010 and 2011, the band takes part in important festivals and events including Heineken Jammin Festival and Italia Wave Love Festival.
On the 27th of November 2010, during the event “La Notte della Musica Emergente” at the Atlantico Live in Rome, the band were given the award as the “the Best 2010 Discovery”-“Miglior Gruppo Rivelazione del 2010”.
